AI Usage Policy
Transparency about how artificial intelligence is used at NereidAtlas.
Where AI Is Used
NereidAtlas uses AI at the following stages:
- Translation: source articles in non-English languages are machine-translated to enable cross-language analysis.
- Clustering: articles covering the same event or topic are grouped together using natural language processing.
- Synthesis: large language models generate narrative summaries and full stories from clustered source material.
- Signal extraction: AI identifies editorial patterns such as framing emphasis, omissions, and narrative divergence across sources.
What AI Does Not Do
- AI does not decide which stories to publish. Publication is an editorial decision made by humans.
- AI does not select or exclude sources based on editorial preference.
- AI does not produce original reporting or introduce information not present in the source material.
Human Oversight
Every AI-generated story is reviewed by the editorial team before publication. The review checks:
- Factual accuracy against the source material.
- Correct attribution of claims to their original sources.
- Balance and fair representation of different perspectives.
- Absence of hallucinated or unsupported claims.
Disclosure
Every story on NereidAtlas carries a visible disclosure that it was produced with AI assistance and editorially reviewed. This disclosure appears in the byline area and in the "How This Story Was Built" section of each story page.
